There's a lot to like about Black Doves, once you get past the fact that it's pretty implausible!
Keira Knightly plays the wife of the UK Defense Minister, but who is actually a trained assassin, working for a shadowy organization (yes, yes, she would never have gotten past vetting, I know!). The plot introduces some of her colleagues, who include a ragbag of mixed characters, but who are actually a lot of fun, with a nod to Guy Ritchie.
The plot involves a gang war, the CIA and an international incident which threatened a major spat between China, the UK and the US
There is an underlying element of homosexuality with her colleague Ben Wishaw, playing a homosexual who was groomed as an assassin by his father, who was also one. This did give Wishaw the opportunity to play a quite nuanced, tortured role quite sympathetically, but it does remind me why my wife and I have taken to enjoying Korean and Japanese dramas, where there is no graphic sex portrayed.

The plot cracks along at a good pace and there are some wonderful caricatures in the mixed bag of assassins in the Black Doves.Overall, despite being really quite far fetched, it is an enjoyable watch and Knightly does a credible job of being a pretty fearsome girl, quite believable in her role.Certainly worth a watch!.
